Students usually attend two or three times a week for about an hour and work one-on-one with a highly trained Kensington Math Tutor. Our goal is to significantly increase your child’s math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance, while building confidence and forging a positive attitude toward the subject.

Our approach is to use techniques to determine what a student does and does not know. We do this by giving them a two-part diagnostic test. Part one is a written test designed to assess their grade-level material weakness. Part two is a series of oral questions, designed to assess the depth of the student’s understanding of key math concepts and skills.
Next, we tailor a personalized learning program specific to their needs. Each student follows the program with the help of a specially trained Kensington Math Tutor who provides instruction and lots of encouragement. Finally, we validate and measure the results by reviewing with you, the student’s report card, independent tests, and parent testimony to measure the improvement in math skills, numerical thinking, and attitude.
